As part of the ongoing lightmapping discussion, I've been experimenting with Thekla-atlas and lightmapper.h. Both are really great libraries! Here is a quite screen grab of how the teapot mdl gets unwrapped:

Not totally sure why the normals are mixed up in the unwrapped mesh, though...
